How It Works
Adding Futures Trades
Navigate to your trade journal and select "Add Trade" as usual. Now you'll see "Futures" as an available asset type alongside stocks. Select your futures contract from our comprehensive list, and the platform automatically populates:
- Contract specifications (point value, tick size, tick value)
- Exchange information
- Contract size details
- Trading hours reference
Add your executions with entry and exit prices, quantity, commissions, and our system calculates your P&L automatically based on the contract specifications.
Accurate P&L Calculations
Each futures contract has unique specifications for calculating profit and loss. My Prop Journal handles this automatically using the correct point values, tick sizes, tick values, and contract multipliers. Whether you're trading a single Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MES) contract or multiple full-size crude oil (CL) futures, your P&L is calculated precisely based on the contract's specifications.
